Free QR code generator.
Make a QR code for a website, a WhatsApp chat, your Wi-Fi, a phone number or a full contact card. Pick your colours and download it as a PNG or a print-ready SVG. The code holds your content directly, so it never expires.
- Free, no sign-up
- Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us.

How to use the QR Code Generator
- Choose what the QR code should do: open a link, start a WhatsApp chat, join Wi-Fi, save a contact and so on.
- Fill in the details. The QR code updates as you type.
- Pick colours and a size if you like. Keep the code dark on a light background so every phone can read it.
- Download it as a PNG for screens and social media, or as an SVG for print, then scan it with your own phone before you use it.
Static QR codes never expire
Many "free" QR generators make dynamic codes: the code points to their server, which then redirects to your link. When the free trial ends, the code stops working, and every printed flyer with it is useless.
This tool makes static codes. Your link, number or Wi-Fi details are stored inside the pattern itself, so the code works forever and nothing passes through us. The trade-off is that you can't change the destination after printing. If you might need to, point the code at a page on your own website that you control.
Getting a QR code that scans first time
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many phones.
- Leave the white border (the "quiet zone") around the code. Cropping it is the most common reason a code won't scan.
- Print it at least 2 x 2 cm, and bigger for posters read from a distance. A rough rule is one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Use the SVG file for print. It stays sharp at any size.
- Shorter content makes a simpler code that scans more easily, so use short links where you can.
- Test it on two different phones before you send anything to print.
Which type to choose
A website link is the most flexible choice. A WhatsApp code opens a chat with your number and an optional first message, which works well on shop counters and delivery bags. A Wi-Fi code lets guests join your network without typing the password. A contact card (vCard) saves your name, number, email and website to the phone's contacts in one tap.
Measure what your QR codes bring in
If the code opens your website, add UTM tags to the link, such as ?utm_source=flyer&utm_medium=qr. Then Google Analytics shows exactly how many visits and enquiries each printed piece brought in. That turns print from guesswork into something you can measure, and it's part of how we run digital marketing for clients.
About the QR Code Generator.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: your content is stored in the code itself, with no redirect through our site, so they keep working forever.
Can I use the QR codes commercially?
Yes. Use them on flyers, packaging, menus, business cards or anywhere else. There is no watermark and no attribution needed.
PNG or SVG: which should I download?
PNG for screens, social media and documents. SVG for anything printed, because it stays sharp at any size.
Why won't my QR code scan?
Usually it is low contrast, a cropped white border, or the code is printed too small. Use a dark code on a light background, keep the border and print it at least 2 cm wide.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static code. If the destination might change, point the code at a page on your own website and update that page instead.
