WordPress development that is fast, secure and yours to run

WordPress done properly, fast, secure, and easy for you to run. Custom-built themes, no bloated page-builder mess, and a site you actually own.

Why this option

When it's the right call.

WordPress powers a huge share of the web for good reasons: you can edit it yourself, it has an enormous ecosystem, and it doesn't lock you in. The problem is that most WordPress sites are built badly, a purchased theme, a dozen plugins doing overlapping jobs, and a page builder that ships 400KB of CSS before a single word appears. We build WordPress the way it should be built.

  • You want to edit content yourself without calling a developer
  • You need a specific plugin or integration from the WordPress ecosystem
  • You want a proven, well-supported platform, not something exotic
  • You care about owning your site and moving hosts freely
Who it's for

A good fit if…

  • Content-heavy sites: blogs, resources, news, documentation
  • Small businesses that want to manage their own pages and posts
  • Sites that need booking, membership or forms via mature plugins
  • Anyone migrating off Wix, Squarespace or a slow existing WordPress build
Probably not, if

Maybe look elsewhere if…

  • You need an app-like, highly interactive front end (consider Next.js)
  • You want the absolute fastest static site with no CMS at all
  • Your content almost never changes and speed is everything
What you get

What's included.

  • Custom theme built to your design, no purchased template
  • Only the plugins you actually need, chosen for performance and security
  • A clean editor experience so non-technical staff can update pages
  • Core Web Vitals work: caching, image optimisation, minimal JS
  • Security hardening: least-privilege roles, login protection, an update plan
  • On-page SEO baseline and structured data
  • Staging environment and a written how-to for your team
Under the hood

How we actually build it.

The detail that separates a page that ranks and converts from one that just exists.

We build custom themes, not page-builder soup

The single biggest cause of slow WordPress sites is the page builder. Elementor, Divi and WPBakery are convenient for the person building the site and expensive for everyone who visits it, they load megabytes of CSS and JavaScript that most pages never use, and they nest your content in a tangle of divs that is miserable to maintain.

We build a custom theme from your approved design. The markup is clean and semantic, the CSS is scoped to what each page actually uses, and the JavaScript is minimal. You still get an easy editor, we use the native block editor (Gutenberg) with custom blocks where you need them, but without the runtime tax.

Plugins, chosen like they cost something

Every plugin is code someone else wrote, running on your site. Each one is a potential security hole, a performance cost, and an update that can break things. We treat the plugin list as a liability to minimise, not a feature list to grow.

Where a plugin is genuinely the right tool, a mature form handler, a well-maintained SEO plugin, a payment gateway, we use it. Where a few lines in the theme will do the job, we write those instead. The result is usually a handful of plugins, not thirty.

Core Web Vitals on a platform famous for failing them

WordPress can absolutely be fast; most WordPress sites simply aren't, because nobody made speed a requirement. We do. That means page caching, a CDN in front of static assets, images served in modern formats at the right dimensions, lazy-loading below the fold, and cutting render-blocking requests to zero.

We target a 90+ mobile PageSpeed score and the Core Web Vitals thresholds, LCP, CLS and INP, and we test against them before launch, not as an afterthought.

Security and updates that don't rely on luck

An un-maintained WordPress site is a target. We harden the install, least-privilege user roles, login rate-limiting, disabled file editing in the dashboard, sensible file permissions, and set up a clear update routine so core, themes and plugins stay current without breaking the site.

If you take a care plan, we handle all of that and keep off-site backups. If you don't, we hand you documentation so you or your team can.

You own it, and you can leave

Everything is in your name, the hosting, the domain, the database, the code. There is no proprietary lock-in, no builder account you have to keep paying for, no agency holding the keys.

If you ever want to move to another host or another developer, you can, and we'll help you do it cleanly. That portability is the whole reason to choose real WordPress over a closed builder.

Switching over

Migrating from something else?

Wix Squarespace A slow existing WordPress site A static HTML site Webflow

Moving to WordPress doesn't mean losing your content or your rankings. We map your existing pages to new URLs (with redirects where they change), migrate your content and images, preserve your metadata and structure, and keep the site indexable throughout. We plan the switch so there's no downtime and no drop in search visibility, the two things that scare people off a migration and rarely need to.

Avoid these

Common mistakes we don't make.

  • Building on a page builder and inheriting its performance tax forever
  • Installing thirty plugins and never removing the ones you stopped using
  • Never updating core or plugins until something gets hacked
  • Using a bloated "multipurpose" theme full of features you'll never touch
  • Skipping backups until the day you desperately need one
  • Treating speed as something to "optimise later" instead of building it in
Pricing

What it costs.

Fixed and itemised. Remove anything you don't need, add anything you do.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

Yes. We build on the native block editor with custom blocks where they help, so your team can update pages and posts without touching code or paying us for every change.

Do I need a page builder like Elementor?

No, and we'd steer you away from one. Page builders make sites slow and hard to maintain. The native editor plus a custom theme gives you the same flexibility without the performance cost.

Can you move my existing WordPress site here?

Yes. We migrate content, images, URLs and metadata, set up redirects where needed, and keep the site indexable so your rankings hold.

How do you keep it fast?

Custom theme, minimal plugins, caching, a CDN, optimised images and near-zero render-blocking requests, tested against a 90+ mobile PageSpeed target before launch.
