How to use the conversion Rate Calculator
- Enter the number of visitors (sessions or users) for a period, such as last month. Google Analytics shows it.
- Enter how many of them converted: sales, bookings, form enquiries or WhatsApp chats.
- Optionally add the average value of a conversion to see revenue and value per visitor.
- Move the "what if" slider to see what a higher conversion rate would add.
How conversion rate is calculated
Conversion rate is the share of visitors who take the action you want: conversions ÷ visitors x 100. If 2,000 people visit your site in a month and 50 send an enquiry, your conversion rate is 2.5%.
Be consistent about what you count. Sessions and users give different numbers, and "conversion" can mean a sale, a booking, a form, a call or a WhatsApp message. Pick the definitions that match your business and use the same ones every month.
What is a good conversion rate?
Online stores commonly convert around 1% to 3% of visitors. Lead generation sites for services often see 2% to 5%, and a focused landing page for a paid campaign can do much better. Your own trend matters more than any average: if this month beats last month on the same traffic, you're heading the right way.
Why a small lift is worth so much
Moving from 2% to 3% sounds minor. It's actually 50% more customers from exactly the same traffic and the same ad spend. That's why improving conversion is often cheaper than buying more visitors, and it makes every other channel, from SEO to paid ads, pay back faster.
Quick ways to convert more visitors
- Make the next step obvious: one clear call to action above the fold, repeated down the page.
- Speed the site up. Slow pages lose people before they read a word.
- Show proof near the button: reviews, results, recognisable clients.
- Cut form fields to the minimum, and offer WhatsApp for people who prefer it.
- Match the page to the ad or search that brought people there.
- Test one change at a time, so you know what made the difference.
About the conversion Rate Calculator.
How do I calculate conversion rate?
Divide conversions by visitors and multiply by 100. For example, 50 enquiries from 2,000 visitors is a 2.5% conversion rate.
What is a good website conversion rate?
Online stores commonly convert 1% to 3% of visitors, and service lead-generation sites 2% to 5%. Focused landing pages can do better. Compare against your own past months first.
Should I use sessions or users?
Either works, as long as you use the same one every time. Sessions give a lower rate because one person can visit several times before converting.
What counts as a conversion?
Whatever action brings in business: a sale, a booking, a contact form, a phone call or a WhatsApp chat. Track each one in Google Analytics so you can see which pages produce them.
Is my data saved?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
