How to use the link Extractor & Nofollow Checker
- Enter the address of the page you want to examine.
- Read the counts: internal, external, nofollow and links with no text.
- Filter the table to internal, external or nofollow links, or search it.
- Download the CSV to work through the list in a spreadsheet.
Why look at a page's links
- Check a page that links to you: is your link there, and is it followed?
- Audit your own internal linking: do your important pages get enough links, with descriptive anchor text?
- Review outbound links: do sponsored or affiliate links carry rel="sponsored"?
- Find links with no anchor text, usually icons, which help neither people nor search engines.
- Research a competitor's page: who do they link to, and how do they structure their navigation?
Follow, nofollow, sponsored and ugc
By default a link passes ranking signals to the page it points to. The rel attribute changes that. rel="nofollow" asks search engines not to count it. rel="sponsored" marks paid or affiliate links, which Google requires. rel="ugc" marks links in comments and forums. Google treats all three as hints rather than strict rules.
If you paid for a link, a review or a placement, it should be sponsored. Paid links without it break Google's spam policies and can get a site penalised.
Internal links are an easy SEO win
Links between your own pages tell search engines which pages matter most and what they're about, through the anchor text. Most small business sites under-use them: blog posts that never link to service pages, and service pages that never link to each other. Adding a few relevant, descriptive links is one of the quickest on-page improvements there is. For links from other sites, our link building and off-page SEO services do the outreach.
About the link Extractor & Nofollow Checker.
What is the difference between dofollow and nofollow?
"Dofollow" just means a normal link with no rel restriction. It can pass ranking signals. Nofollow asks search engines not to, though Google may still use it as a hint.
Does this check whether links are broken?
No, it lists links without visiting them. A broken link checker is planned for a later batch of tools.
Why are some links missing?
Links added by JavaScript after the page loads aren't in the HTML we read. Menus built entirely in JavaScript are the usual case.
How many internal links should a page have?
There is no magic number. Link wherever it genuinely helps the reader, and make sure every important page is linked from several others with descriptive anchor text.
Is there a limit?
We list up to 1,000 unique links per page.
