Domain health checker.
A full check-up for your domain in one go: DNS and nameservers, whether the website loads securely, SSL expiry, SPF and DMARC for email, and whether your web or mail servers are on spam blacklists. Every problem comes with a plain-English fix.

How to use the domain Health Checker
- Enter your domain name, such as example.com.
- Wait about 20 seconds while we run DNS, website, SSL, email and blacklist checks.
- Start with the red items. Each one says what's wrong and what to do.
- Run the check again after fixing. Results are cached for 15 minutes.
What "domain health" covers
Your domain does more than host a website. It routes your email, proves your identity to other mail servers, and carries a reputation that spam filters check. A problem in any one of these can quietly cost you customers: enquiries that never arrive, quotes that land in spam, or a browser warning on your home page.
- DNS: the domain resolves, has at least two nameservers, and has mail servers if you use email.
- Website and SSL: the site loads, forces HTTPS, and has a trusted certificate that isn't about to expire.
- Email authentication: SPF and DMARC records exist and are set up correctly.
- Blacklists: your website and mail server IPs, and the domain itself, aren't on spam lists.
How often to check
Run it after any change to hosting, DNS or email providers, and otherwise once a month. Problems tend to appear after changes: a migration that drops the SPF record, a renewal that fails, a new tool sending email that isn't authorised.
Digging deeper into one area
Each section has its own detailed tool: the DNS lookup for every record, the SSL checker for certificate details, the SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker with a DMARC generator, and the email blacklist checker list by list.
If the report shows more red than you want to deal with, our website care plans cover monitoring and fixes, and a website migration can move you to hosting that gets these basics right.
About the domain Health Checker.
What does a domain health check include?
DNS records and nameservers, website reachability and HTTPS, SSL certificate validity and expiry, SPF and DMARC email records, and spam blacklist status for your web and mail servers and the domain.
Why does it take longer than other tools?
It runs several checks in a row, including blacklist lookups on a dozen lists. It usually finishes in under 20 seconds.
Does it check DKIM?
DKIM needs a selector name that varies by provider, so it is in the dedicated SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker, which can try common selectors or one you enter.
Is my domain stored?
The result is cached for 15 minutes so repeated checks are fast, then deleted.
Can I check a domain I don't own?
Yes. Everything checked is public information that any mail server or browser can see.
