How to use the website Cost Calculator

  1. Pick the kind of website you need: a small business site, a larger business site or an online store.
  2. Set how many pages (or products) it needs.
  3. Tick the extras: copywriting, a logo, extra payment methods, booking, more languages.
  4. Read the build price, the monthly running costs and the items we quote separately, then ask for a fixed quote.

What really drives the cost of a website

  • Size: each page needs design, content and testing. A 5-page site and a 30-page site are very different jobs.
  • Design: a well-chosen template adapted to your brand costs less than a fully custom design.
  • Content: writing the words is often the slowest part. Professional copywriting adds cost but usually pays for itself in enquiries.
  • Features: online payments, bookings, more languages and connections to other software each add work.
  • An online store: products, payments, shipping rules and stock add a lot of moving parts.

The running costs people forget

The build is a one-off, but every website has running costs: a domain name (roughly $10 to $20 a year), hosting (from a few dollars a month for a small site, more for a busy store), and maintenance. WordPress sites in particular need regular updates to stay secure. A care plan covers updates, backups and small fixes for a fixed monthly fee.

Cheap websites and what they cost later

Very cheap sites are usually a template with your logo dropped in, no attention to speed, and no SEO setup. They look fine on launch day and bring in no enquiries. Rebuilding them a year later costs more than doing it properly once.

Every site we build includes the basics that make it findable and fast: mobile-first design, clean code, an on-page SEO baseline and quick load times. Those are what turn a website from a brochure into something that brings in customers. If you already have a site that isn't working, a website redesign may cost less than starting from scratch.

Estimates versus quotes

This calculator uses our published starting prices, so the estimate is honest, but every project is different. A fixed quote comes after a short conversation about what the site has to do. You'll find the full price list on our pricing page.
