Broken link checker.
Find the dead links on your website. Check one page, or let us crawl up to 15 pages, and see each broken link with the page it's on. Links we can't verify, because a site like LinkedIn refuses automated checks, are listed separately and never called broken.

How to use the broken Link Checker
- Enter a page address, and choose one page or up to 15 pages.
- We read the links, then test each one, up to 250.
- Fix the broken ones first, using the "Found on" column.
- Review redirects, and check the unverified links by hand.
Do broken links hurt SEO?
A few won't sink a site, and Google says 404s are a normal part of the web. They still cost you. A visitor who hits a dead end may leave, an internal link to a missing page wastes the link's value, and a site full of them looks neglected. They're also among the easiest problems to fix.
Fixing what you find
- Broken internal link: correct the address, or add a 301 redirect if the page moved. The .htaccess redirect generator writes the rule.
- Broken external link: update it to the new address, link to a different source, or remove it.
- Redirect: it works, but update the link to the final address when convenient.
- Unverified: the site refused our check. Open it in your browser to see whether it works.
Limits of this check
We test up to 250 unique links within about 28 seconds, and the result tells you if any were left out. Only normal links in the HTML are checked, so links added by JavaScript won't appear. A page that says "not found" but returns a success code can't be detected. For larger sites, our technical SEO work includes a full crawl. To see every link on a page, use the link extractor.
About the broken Link Checker.
Why are LinkedIn and Facebook links listed as unverified?
They refuse automated checks even when the link is fine, often answering with an error code. Calling them broken would be a false alarm, so we ask you to check them by hand.
What is the difference between 404 and 410?
A 404 means the page wasn't found. A 410 means it was deliberately removed. Both count as broken links here.
How many links can it check?
Up to 250 unique links per run, from one page or up to 15 pages. The result tells you if some could not be checked in time.
Does it check images?
No. It checks normal links only. The page size checker lists the images and files a page loads, along with any that fail.
Is it safe to run on my site?
Yes. It only reads pages, a few at a time, and it follows your robots.txt rules while crawling.
