How to use the SVG to PNG Converter

  1. Upload an SVG file, or paste SVG code.
  2. Set the width you need. The height follows the SVG's shape.
  3. Choose a transparent or solid background, and the format.
  4. Download the image.

Why convert SVG at all?

SVG is the best format for logos and icons on websites: it's tiny and stays sharp at any size. But many places still don't accept it: Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp, email signatures, Microsoft Office, many form uploads and some page builders. For those, you need a PNG (or JPG). Because the SVG is a vector, you can export it at any size without losing sharpness, so export it as big as the place needs.

Choosing size and format

  • PNG with a transparent background: logos placed on coloured backgrounds, documents, presentations.
  • JPG with a white background: places that don't support transparency, and email.
  • WebP: websites that can't use SVG directly.
  • Size: export at twice the size it will be shown, so it's crisp on high-resolution screens. A 200 px logo slot needs a 400 px PNG.

If the result looks wrong

An SVG that uses web fonts or links to outside images may render differently here, because those resources aren't embedded in the file. Convert text to outlines in your design software first. Scripts inside SVGs never run in this tool. After converting, use the image compressor if you need a smaller file, or the favicon generator to make site icons from your logo.

Questions

About the SVG to PNG Converter.

Will the PNG be sharp?

Yes. SVG is a vector format, so it is drawn fresh at whatever size you choose.

Is the background transparent?

It is when you choose PNG or WebP with the transparent option. JPG always has a solid background.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser.

Why are the fonts wrong in my converted image?

The SVG refers to a font that isn't embedded. Convert text to outlines (paths) in your design tool, then export the SVG again.

What is the largest size I can export?

Up to 8000 px wide, which covers print and large banners. Very large sizes can be slow on phones.
