Schema markup generator and validator.
Create structured data (JSON-LD) that helps Google, Bing and AI assistants understand your page: FAQs, your local business details, your organisation, articles, breadcrumbs and products. Paste existing markup into the validator to check it for errors.

How to use the schema Markup Generator
- Pick the type of schema that matches your page: FAQ for a questions section, Local business for your contact page, and so on.
- Fill in the fields. Required ones are marked; leave optional ones blank if they don't apply.
- Copy the code and paste it into the page's HTML, in the <head> or anywhere in the <body>.
- Test the live page with Google's Rich Results Test, or paste the code into the Validate tab here first.
What schema markup does
Schema markup is a block of code, written in a shared vocabulary from schema.org, that states facts about a page in a form machines can read without guessing: this is a dentist, this is its address, these are its opening hours, these are the questions and answers on the page.
Google uses it to show rich results such as star ratings, product prices, breadcrumbs and event dates. Increasingly, AI assistants and AI search features use the same structured facts when they put an answer together. Clear, accurate markup makes your information easier to pick up and quote correctly.
Which schema type to use
- LocalBusiness (or a specific type like Dentist or Plumber): your home or contact page, with your name, address, phone and hours. Keep them identical to your Google Business Profile.
- Organization: your home page, with your logo and social profiles, to help search engines connect your brand across the web.
- FAQPage: any page with a visible list of questions and answers.
- Article: blog posts and news, with the author and dates.
- BreadcrumbList: any page deeper than one level, so the results show a clean path instead of a long URL.
- Product: product pages, with price, availability and reviews.
Rules that keep markup safe
Only mark up what visitors can actually see on the page. FAQ schema for questions that aren't on the page, or review stars you collected elsewhere, breaks Google's guidelines and can earn a manual penalty.
Also be realistic about results: since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites. FAQ markup is still worth adding, because it states your answers clearly for search engines and AI tools, but don't expect the drop-down questions to appear under your listing.
Schema is part of a bigger picture
Markup helps machines read what's already there. It won't rescue a thin page or a business with no reviews. The strongest results come from pairing it with genuinely useful content and a consistent presence across the web, which is how we approach answer engine optimisation and technical SEO.
About the schema Markup Generator.
What is JSON-LD?
It is the format Google recommends for structured data: a script block of JSON that sits in the page HTML and describes the page using the schema.org vocabulary. Visitors never see it.
Where do I paste the schema code?
Anywhere in the page HTML, usually inside the <head>. In WordPress you can use a header-code plugin, or the schema settings in Yoast or Rank Math.
Will schema markup improve my rankings?
Not directly. It helps search engines understand the page and can make you eligible for rich results, which often get more clicks. It also gives AI tools clear facts to work from.
Why are my FAQ rich results not showing?
Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health websites. The markup is still read and still useful, but the drop-down questions rarely appear for other sites.
Is this validator the same as Google's Rich Results Test?
No. It checks the JSON syntax and the main required fields for each type. Always confirm the live page with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator.
